OriginalFake KAWS Companion “Resting Place” Preview

It’s been over half a year since we’ve seen a new non-collaborative toy release from KAWS and OriginalFake. But breaking the silence is a preview into an upcoming KAWS Companion release dubbed “Resting Place.” While the majority of toy releases from OriginalFake have occupied a vertical space through standing and posing characters, the “Resting Place” Companion takes a decidedly different approach. The release will be first made available via a lucky draw. Tickets will be available starting at 9:00 am on Friday, August 31 at the OriginalFake Store in Aoyama, Tokyo.

Celebrated Korean toymaker and artist Coolrain offers a suitable homage to this year’s 2012 Dream Team with two series of action figures. Three particular high-profile and now 2012 gold medal-winning athletes in Kobe BryantKevin Durant and LeBron James are placed front and center and appropriated through Coolrain’s signature style. Donning the ever iconic Team USA jersey with some realistic details such neoprene sleeves and signature sneakers there’s also a series of lifestyle appropriations that were also created as they feature fashion-based NSW attire alongside in a black and white figure format.

LEGO 80th Anniversary Animated Film

A fixture in people’s “fondest childhood memory banks,” LEGO celebrates 80 years of putting smiles on both children and adult’s faces with an animated film. Hot Toys The Avengers Iron Man Mark VII Limited Edition Figure

Capitalizing on the recent success of this year’s motion picture adaptation of The Avengers, a limited edition 1/6 scale Iron Man Mark VII figurine is forthcoming from Hot Toys. Allowing this figurine to easily stand out amongst others is a clear emphasis on detailed moving parts. Comprehensively offered with this release is a selection of adjustable armor plates for the chest, thigh, shoulder, hands and forearms as well as deployable back-located air flaps and attached forearm weaponry. Adding a further realistic element to this collectible are light-up functions, lifelike battle damage details and an interchangable Tony Stark head option. A price-tag has been set at $380 USD.
