First debuting at this year’s Sundance Film Festival, LUV is set to hit screens November of this year withCommon leading the cast in this coming-of-age story. Set in Baltimore, the story starts with Woody, played by Michael Rainey Jr., as a young boy lacking a male role model; and his uncle Vincent, played by Common. As Vincent takes his nephew to school, he decides to instead take him out for the day and show him how to be a man. What ensues is a day full of turmoil as Vincent’s old life comes back to haunt him. Featuring stellar turns by both Common and newcomer Rainey Jr., the film directed by Sheldon Candis offers a refreshing change from the usual grittiness associated with gangland crime capers. Look for this at a silver screen near you.
