Austin-based Nice Kicks has linked up with Vans and the Vans Vault line to produce a special edition pack dubbed “The Duel.” Inspired by the cowboys of the Wild West and the childhood memories of Nice Kicks founder and publisher Matt Halfhill, “The Duel” features premium editions of both the Era and Sk8-Hi – Halfhill’s favorite Vans silhouettes. Sporting raw denim alongside antique brass to underscore the Western influence, the kicks each see oiled leather accents meant to represent a saddle and reigns – as well as Halfhill’s first pair of boots – while the red Vans Vault branding on the heel pays homage to both the Texas flag and the Nice Kicks logo. Capped off with white rubber foxing, the Sk8-Hi LX and Era LX are set to retail for $125 USD and $110 USD, respectively, and will be available in-store next Friday, September 14 at 11:59 p.m. CDT as a part of a special release party before landing online the following day at 12 p.m. CDT.
