The Unreleased Wu-Tang “Wu-Massacre” Comics

In a bit of hip-hop trivia that perhaps only Nardwuar might know, Wu-Tang Clan‘s collaborative album Wu-Massacre alongside Method Man, Ghostface Killah and Raekwon was also the source of inspiration for a series of comics that never saw the light of publishing. With artwork by legendary illustrator Chris Bachalo, the album cover itself was already drawn to resemble a comic — but these unreleased comics featured a more complete storyline and fleshed characters created by art director and designer Alex Haldi. While the storyline was allegedly laid out, the comic unfortunately doesn’t contain any speech bubbles containing dialogue to accompany the impressive visuals. That doesn’t make the comic’s story or its history any less intriguing though — just fair warning, the comics are somewhat graphic in nature, so exercise discretion if you’re viewing at work.
