Billionaire Boys Club “Bee Line” 2012 Fall/Winter Collection

The inspired pairing of post-trad cobbler/clothing designer Mark McNairy and Pharrell Williams was born of a shared preppy streetwear aesthetic and collective disdain for boundaries. Much buzzed-about in recent months, Bee Line for Billionaire Boys Club has released the lookbook for its inaugural fall/winter collection of domestically-manufactured, refined streetwear. The genre-bending duo’s touches are both distinct and harmonious, not an easy task considering the fastidious personalities of both collaborators. McNairy’s New Amsterdam hallmarks are present — fun shirts, camouflage, brightly-accented anoraks, and tailored fits — while Pharrell’s signature purple accents peek out from tweed puffer vests and BBC logos grace the fronts of sweatshirts. Among the standouts is the work of a third party — Seattle’s Cresecent Down Works — on an array of outerwear, gold and silver-sleeved varsities inspired by metallic factory floor scraps and a range of “B”-logo caps. Look for the collection to release on August 31 at the Billionaire Boy’s Club Tokyo location and later on at selected stockists worldwide
