OUYA’s done it! In fact, it’s outdone its goal by far. With an initial target of $950,000, which was achieved under 8 hours, the Los Angeles-based company’s Kickstarter funding project has managed to secure $8,596,475 in just 29 days. The $99 hackable Android game console designed by Yves Béhar is officially on its way to production, and it seems everyone wants a piece of it. With 63,416 Kickstarter backers and partners like… hold your breath… OnLive, Square Enix, Namco Bandai, iHeartRadio, XBMC, VEVO, Indies, Robotoki and Plex on board, the future is looking bright for OUYA CEO Julie Uhrman and company. Backers who opted for developer editions will receive their units around December, while the rest can expect the console as early as March next year. For the rest of you who missed pledging, watch out for OUYA’s online call to pre-order soon, slated for delivery nearer April 2013.
