Agenda Long Beach: New Balance 2013 Spring/Summer Collection Preview

New Balance recently unveiled new iterations of two retro running models, the 999 and 1600, at the Agenda tradeshow in Long Beach. For 2013 spring/summer, the New Balance 999, perhaps best known in recent memory for the highly-successful Concepts “The Kennedy” collaboration, receives red and royal blue-highlighted colorways that both make use of soft, premium suede, the usual ABZORB cushioning in the heel, and prominent 999 model branding. The 1600 made news this year for perhaps the wrong reason – the highly-anticipated Boylston Trading Co. x New Balance 1600 collaboration which was scrapped just before its release. Disappointed fans may look to two new colorways to get their 1600 fix however, as a sky-blue and red duo will also release in the seldom seen model. Readers will note obvious design similarities with the 1500 and 1700 models and again, both colorways are constructed in a combination of suede, mesh and Abzorb-housing midsole. Keep an eye out for the New Balance 999 and 1600 as they prepare to release next year.
